Acro

Acro is a combination of dance and acrobatics. Acro training includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering. It challenges and builds flexibility, contortion and strength. available for ages 7y+

Jazz

Jazz is a rhythmic and upbeat style of dance. It focuses on isolations of the body, proper alignment, leaps, turns, and rhythmic aspects of dancing. It ranges in style from classical jazz, contemporary-jazz, commercial jazz, and jazz funk. available 7y+

Contemporary

Contemporary dance embodies a wide array of movement styles and is driven by emotion. It focuses on spatial and body awareness, with use of body weight, floor work, leaps, turns, and alignment. available to dancers 10y+ Enrollment in a technique class (ballet or jazz) recommended.

Tap

Tap is a percussive style of dance.  Students will learn both rhythm tap (focuses more on music and rhythms) and Broadway tap (focuses more on dance and theatrics), as well as musicality and timing. available 7y+

Boys Hip Hop

Boys Hip Hop provides a safe and fun atmosphere where kids can explore rhythm and movement . Dancers learn basic music listening skills, body awareness, and understanding of hip hop fundamentals. available to dancers 4y+

Ballet

Ballet is a classic form of dance with a long history. Ballet will help dancers develop posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. available for 7y+

Early Childhood

Early childhood dance classes use creative movement ideas, with a touch of ballet basics, to develop basic motor skills, musicality and rhythm. Dancers will develop dance, listening, and coordination skills in fun and creative ways. Broadway Babies 3y, Shining Stars 4y, Petite Ballet 5-6y

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a fast-paced, high-energy form of dance where the emphasis is less on formal technique and more on personal style. It includes a wide range of movements including the basics of Breaking, Locking and Popping. available 5y+

Class Attire

  • No loose/baggy clothing or oversized jewelry.

  • No street shoes on dance floor.

  • Hair must always be pulled up and back, away from dancer’s face.

  • Ballet Classes (Youth, Intermediate, Teen)- black leotards, ballet pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun

  • Broadway Babies, Shining Stars, Lollipop Kids, Petite Ballet- pink leotards, ballet pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a bun

  • Tap classes- black leotards/tights, fitted turning point tee/tank with shorts or leggings, tap shoes, hair in bun or high ponytail

  • Jazz classes- black leotards with tan tights, fitted turning point tee/tank with shorts or leggings, tan jazz shoes, hair in bun or high ponytail

  • Hip Hop- black tank, black shorts or leggings, clean sneakers or ballet/jazz shoes, until proper shoes are sized and ordered

  • Boys Hip Hop- black shorts or joggers, black tshirt or boys dance tshirt, sneakers

  • Contemporary- black leotards/tights, fitted turning point tee/tank with shorts or leggings, bring ballet/jazz shoes and socks, hair in bun or high ponytail

  • Acro- leotard and shorts, fitted tank and shorts

Turning Point merchandise is available for purchase at the studio. Shoes and tights can be purchased through the studio to ensure they are the proper style.
